Dolly’s journey started from humble beginnings in the Great Smoky Mountains of rural Tennessee. From writing her first song at age 5, she propelled into Hollywood with a long list of hits that could make even the most reluctant country-music fan call for ‘Joleeeene’. Her talent is undeniable, she’s got a look that’s pretty hard to miss and she's committed herself to giving back to those who need it most.

Dolly’s timeline of philanthropy spans across a broad spectrum of good deeds. From establishing the Imagination Library in support of children’s literacy and education, using her voice to stand behind LGBTQ+ rights, to her extensive list of contributions to medical funding which most recently includes donating $1 million to the research of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

At 75 years young, Dolly continues to give back to her hometown of Sevierville, particularly its youth, providing several scholarships and monetary incentives to high school kids as a way to support students sticking it out until their last day. In fact, when she heard there was a 30% dropout rate amongst Sevier County school students, she told 7th and 8th graders to choose a buddy, and told them she would personally deliver $500 to each student who graduated- as long as their buddy did too.
We could go on all day about all of Dolly’s achievements in making the world a better place. Last year in an interview with A Current Affair, she said, “Well, I don’t plan to retire, I just turned 74!” and boy oh boy, we sure hope she doesn’t.
At Lovestar, we adore all that Dolly embodies. A true Icon in her own right, our latest portrait vase is a tribute to all that she is and all that she does. So, here’s to you, Queen Dolly, you angelic superwoman!
