The story of Lovestar // March 08, 2026

"lovestar didn't begin as a business. it began as something far more personal - a space for creativity, connection and joy at a time in my life when i felt overwhelmed. to understand where lovestar is today, we need to go back to where it all began."

THE BEGINNING

Lovestar began in 2014 when I was at home with three very small children.

Prior to that, I had spent my career working as a lawyer in Australia and overseas. It was a profession I enjoyed, but it never really felt like home. My real love had always been creativity - design, art, interiors, fashion - anything tactile, expressive, and beautiful.

When I stepped away from my career to have my children, something shifted.

Motherhood brought immense love, but it was also incredibly challenging. Like many women, I experienced postnatal depression - something I had never expected and struggled to understand at the time. I found early motherhood extremely difficult. In fact, it was the hardest thing I had ever done. It was a huge blow to my ego to realise that being a mother didn't come naturally to me and that I wasn't feeling everything I was expecting to feel.

One day, not long after the birth of my third child, I decided to do something small for myself, to be creative, make something. The act of creating, of using my hands and imagination, made me feel like myself again.

It was those precious moments reconnecting with creativity, being present, that were the beginning of everything.

Lovestar was born from those moments.

Creativity has a remarkable way of healing.

PRESSING PAUSE

After several years spent deeply immersed in the day-to-day details of running the business, I finally stepped back and took a breath. I realised something important. I had evolved, and Lovestar needed to evolve with me.

I wanted something slower. More intentional. More thoughtful.

A Lovestar that reflected my Greek heritage and coastal childhood upbringing. A Lovestar rooted in craft, ritual, collaboration.

To create that future, we made the difficult decision to pause the business as it existed.

AN UNEXPECTED CHAPTER

Roughly twelve months ago, as we were preparing to relaunch Lovestar, life took an unexpected turn.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Naturally, the launch was postponed while I focused on treatment, recovery, and my family.

This past year has held its share of tears but also extraordinary love, clarity and perspective.

I was fortunate that my cancer was detected early, and I have been able to make a full recovery.

As a side note, I lost my mother to breast cancer when she was the age I am now. There have been extraordinary advances in treatment since then. early detection remains key. Please, if you are in a high-risk group or simply haven't had your breasts checked in a while, visit your doctor. x

A NEW CHAPTER

Today, Lovestar returns in a new form. Softer. Slower. More considered.

This new chapter has been shaped by the many layers of life — love, grief, joy, growth, and experience.

It is about healing through creativity.

About reconnecting with joy.

About creating objects that bring beauty, ritual, and feeling into everyday life.

Each piece is thoughtfully crafted to live not only in your home, but to encourage small moments of care, calm, and connection.

Lovestar remains my always and forever — my raison d’être.

This new chapter has my heart and soul in it.

Thank you for being here.

This is only the beginning.
