the eros vase - a vessel of love

Named after Eros, the Greek God of love and desire, the Eros Vase is Lovestar’s signature piece - a handblown heart in glass.

More than a vessel for flowers the Eros vase is a daily reminder to open your heart, slow down and let love in.

process

The creation of the eros vase was anything but straightforward. Glass has a life of its own, and achieving this sculptural form and finish required exceptional skill and patience.

Close to a year was spent in refinement - testing proportions, adjusting curves, and working hand-in-hand with some of the world’s most skilled glassblowers before the final form felt exactly right.

Each vase is individually handblown by our master glassblower, whose decades of experience guide the process. No two pieces are ever the same - giving each it's own unique character and natural beauty.

Due to the time and complexity involved, Eros is produced in carefully considered limited edition batches.

Every vase carries its own edition number — a reflection of our commitment to craftsmanship.

highlight on: eros [asteria]

named after the greek goddess of stars and astrology, the asteria vase reflects the exceptional skill of our glassmakers.

each vase is first handblown, forming the base of the vase. every star is then individually hand-pressed.

the stars are then refined and carefully attached to the vase one by one, requiring precise control and craftsmanship.

the result is a highly intricate piece that reflects the patience, precision, and craftsmanship behind every asteria vase.

style notes

Keep it simple.

One hero stem is often enough. Or a small number of the same stemmed flower such as the deep burgundy cymbidium orchids pictured here in our pink eros vase.

We especially love Eros with:

- Cymbidium orchids

- Nasturtium

- Bearded Iris

- Tulips

- Calla lilies

- Garden roses

- Sweet peas

- Foraged foliage

caring for eros

- wash gently with warm (not hot) water.

- use mild dish soap if needed. avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or harsh chemicals.

- rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth to prevent water marks.

for mineral build up or cloudy residue from flower water:

- fill the vase with warm water and a small splash of white vinegar

- let it sit for around 30 minutes, then rinse and dry carefully.

temperature:

- glass prefers gradual changes. Avoid sudden shifts in temperature (for example, moving from very cold water to very hot water), as thermal shock may cause cracking.

Do not place in the dishwasher.

handling

always place your eros vase on a stable, flat surface. When moving it, move the vase and vase stand separately. make sure you hold the vase from the body, especially when filled with water and flowers.

If styling near open windows or breezy areas, ensure stems are balanced to avoid tipping.

flower care

Change the water every 1-2 days to keep both flowers and glass fresh.

Trim stems before placing them in the vase and avoid letting foliage sit below the waterline to minimise residue.

Rinse and dry between arrangements to maintain clarity and brilliance.

a note on longevity

Handblown glass is durable but not indestructible. Treat your Eros Vase as you would any cherished object - with intention and gentleness - and it will age beautifully.

the ritual

Whether cut from the garden, gathered on a walk, gifted, or chosen at the market, the simple act of arranging flowers is a small act that can bring so much joy.

Let this become a weekly ritual.

A reminder to slow down and let love in.

the vase stand

The vase stand is a design achievement in its own right. Many hours and numerous concepts were explored before arriving at its final form. From the beginning, it was important that the stand felt nostalgic and sculptural, with gentle curves that would support the vase without distracting from its beauty.

After many iterations, we arrived at the design you see today. Each stand is handformed, giving it subtle variations — no two are exactly alike.

Both functional and sculptural, the stand complements the vase while standing as a beautiful object in its own right.

Every vase is accompanied with its own stand.
